The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology has become the symbol of higher learning toward the advancement of vocational and technological education in Central Luzon. Its transformation into a specialized university in science and technology has developed this institution as an educational leader in science and technology in Region III.

VISION

NEUST envisions to become a recognized educational leader in science and technology in Region III, managed by committed and ethical public servants where a culture of excellence, high ethical standards and solidarity thrives and prospers in each of the academic and administrative units; and where its college, campus and unit is a center of development/excellence in research, extension services, production, sports and cultural development, transforming students and alumni and other clientele into quality, competent and ethical leaders, professionals and /or middle-level manpower in the field of science and technology, education, management, arts, and technology-based education and training.

MISSION

As specified in Section 2 of Republic Act No. 8612, NEUST shall primarily provide advance instruction and professional training in science and technology, education, arts and other related fields in the graduate, undergraduate, and short term technical levels within its areas of specialization and according to its capabilities; to undertake research and extension services; and to provide progressive leadership in the areas.

The NEUST is located in Nueva Ecija at the Central Plains of Luzon, the rice granary of the Philippines. It operates in five major campuses namely: the San Isidro Campus (.55 ha) in the town of San Isidro; the Fort Magsaysay Campus (8.5 has.) in Palayan City; the Sumacab Campus (22.9 has.) in Sumacab Este, Cabanatuan City; the Gabaldon Campus (1,463.32 has.) in the town of Gabaldon; and the Main Campus (1.93 has.) which is at the heart of Cabanatuan City, approximately 118 kilometers North of Manila. The Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) started as the Nueva Ecija Trade School (NETS) in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija on June 7, 1929, offering vocational opportunities to the youth of the province. The first and only course offered was woodworking in addition to the existing secondary curriculum that was inherited from the Wright Institute. To meet the increasing demand for vocational education in the whole province, the trade school was transferred to Cabanatuan City on June 7, 1931. Enrolment increased; however, the program was interrupted by the Second World War which broke up in the Pacific in December 1941. Immediately after the war, the trade school was reopened on September 6, 1945. A rehabilitation program took place. The trade school continued its mission to meet the vocational and manpower needs of students coming from Nueva Ecija and the nearby provinces. On June 8, 1948, a course in dressmaking was opened and female students were admitted. A few years later, food trades and cosmetology courses were offered. On May 8, 1953, the NETS was converted into the Central Luzon School of Arts and Trades (CLSAT) by virtue of Republic Act No. 845. CLSAT was recognized as a center of manpower/vocational training for both youth and adults not only in the province but also in the whole Region III. The series of development continued until the CLSAT was converted into the Central Luzon Polytechnic College (CLPC) by virtue of Republic Act No. 3998 signed on June 18, 1964 by President Diosdado Macapagal. The College ws Converted into Nueva Ecija University of Science and Tecnology (NEUST) on March 27, 1998 by virtue of Republic Act No. 8612. The expansion of NEUST is evident not only in terms of program offerings, number of enrollees and land acquisitions, but also in terms of linkages with both local and international entities. As part of the expansion, the University has brought its graduate and undergraduate programs in China and has also hosted the South Korea's Master of Science in Information Technology, which is presently being offered at NEUST by the Han Nam University.
